I had to share this story. I first heard about this from Brianna and then got to see the story through her mom's eyes on her blog and it brought tears to my eyes. All of you that know me, know that's not a hard thing to do. I was ecstatic when Brianna's mom said it was alright for me to copy her story and pictures. There are so many amazing people out there working miracles in lives of people they may not even know.

Story:
When Brianna came to pick up Savannah after work today she came in with a surprise from the mail man. She said, "Mom do you know a Sandy ***?" I knew exactly what was in the package at that moment. I told her to sit in the front room and I'd be right up. I went up and grabbed a copy of a post that Raggedy Sandy had done on her blog. I had previously printed it out knowing that this day would come. You can find a copy of this blog entry here.

As she started to read a big smile came on her face as she realized that this package was actually for her!

I had left Sandy a comment awhile back about how I'd thrown away Brianna's Annie and how she'd never forgiven me for it. She had asked me to post a picture of Annie, which I did. Brianna immediately fell in love with Annie. The first thing Brianna said when she opened the box was, "mom, she looks just like my Annie! She even has the zig zags under her eyes!" Sandy took great care with the details on this Annie.

The details even went so far as the "I love you" heart on her chest. It was deja vu looking at her!

I told Brianna that I thought Annie looked at home sitting on my shelf.......
but Brianna didn't like that idea! For the rest of the time Brianna was at my house Annie sat on her lap. Suddenly she was my little "Breezie" again sitting and rocking her Annie and loving her. Brianna couldn't believe that someone I'd only known a month or so and had never met would go to so much trouble making this for my daughter. She told me "mom, I want to blog with little old ladies!" Uhhh, I have the impression that Sandy is close to my age and I don't think of myself as a "little old lady" yet! She was quick to remind me that I am almost 50 and "THAT'S OLD!"
I'll be posting a similar post on my sewing blog so that Sandy can see how much we appreciate the new Annie but, how do you say thank you when the words just don't cover everything in your heart? This beautiful Annie means the world to Brianna and also to me. It just reaffirms for us both that there are many, many good people in this world and I'm so glad that I got to meet another one when I found Sandy's blog.

  1. I love this! What a great idea. I think it definitely counts. Just send over a comment to my friend Kylene and let her know when you post it. Just be sure to add your web address in your comment. If you add it to this blog and your family blog it will count as two!

  2. Silly me, you already had posted it! Sandy has become a wonderful friend. She's such a caring person. I'm still amazed that she did this for Brianna. I'll keep my eyes out for stories for you to use (with the blogger's permission of course!).
